Dodoma

The Heart of the Nation - Tanzania's Capital

About Dodoma

Located in the center of the country, Dodoma is the official political capital of Tanzania. It offers a much slower, more relaxed pace of life compared to Dar es Salaam. The city is characterized by its wide boulevards, government buildings, and semi-arid landscape.

One of Dodoma's most surprising features is its status as a wine-growing region. The dry, sunny climate of the central plateau is perfect for vineyards, making it the center of the Tanzanian wine industry. Beyond the city, the region is home to the Kondoa Rock Art, a collection of ancient paintings that tell the story of human life in East Africa over thousands of years.
