About the Crater

Often described as the "Eighth Wonder of the World," the Ngorongoro Crater is the world's largest intact volcanic caldera. Formed millions of years ago when a massive volcano collapsed, it now serves as a self-contained ecosystem. Within its 600-meter-deep walls, you will find lush forests, alkaline lakes, and open savannahs.

It is one of the few places on earth where you can see the Big Five in a single day, including the highly elusive Black Rhino.
