Nyerere National Park

Untamed Wilderness of the Wild South

About Nyerere Park

Formerly known as the Selous Game Reserve, Nyerere National Park is the largest national park in Africa. It represents the "Wild South"—remote, vast, and relatively untouched by mass tourism. The mighty Rufiji River is the park's lifeblood, creating a network of lakes and lagoons where crocodiles and hippos reign.

It is one of the few strongholds for the endangered African Wild Dog.
