Serengeti National Park

The Endless Plains

About the Serengeti

The name Serengeti is derived from the Maasai word 'Siringet', meaning "the place where the land runs on forever." This UNESCO World Heritage site is the quintessential image of Africa. It hosts the Great Migration—the largest movement of land mammals on earth—where over 1.5 million wildebeest and zebra traverse the plains in a seasonal cycle of life and death.

Whether you are witnessing a dramatic river crossing or watching a lion pride bask on a granite kopje, the Serengeti offers a primal connection to nature that is found nowhere else.
