Tarangire National Park

The Elephant Playground

About Tarangire

If you love giants, Tarangire is your home. Famous for its massive herds of African elephants and its iconic "upside-down" Baobab trees, this park offers a more rugged and quiet atmosphere than the Serengeti. During the dry season (June–October), the Tarangire River becomes the only permanent water source for miles, drawing thousands of animals.

Zebras, wildebeest, and buffalo arrive in a "mini-migration" that makes for spectacular game viewing.
